Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019re based in a small coastal town in Victoria, Australia, where the relaxed pace, friendly community and beautiful shoreline shape the way we live. When we\u2019re not soaking up the coast, I work as an urban planner, and Scott works in personal injury insurance. We love to travel\u2014visiting family in Europe or taking road trips to explore more of Australia\u2014and we\u2019re passionate cyclists, photographers and food lovers. Above all, we enjoy getting outside and capturing the moments that make this life here so special.<\/p>\n

\"\"How\/where\/when did you meet \u2013 and what were your first impressions?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We met at The Lighthouse Caf\u00e9, where Chloe worked.<\/p>\n

I was a regular customer, and I was drawn to Chloe\u2019s sense of humour and how easy-going she was.<\/p>\n

Scott asked me out through a lengthy message on Instagram (which we laugh about now), where he asked if I would like to go to dinner. He wanted the evening to be memorable and had organised dinner in Lorne and had told me to bring a warm jumper \u2013 I was in for a surprise.<\/p>\n

We had dinner, afterwards Scott took me on a surprise walk down one of the local waterfalls, which had glow worms (bioluminescent larvae) lining the path as you walk down to the falls. Scott had thought of everything and had brought some red wine and two kinds of chocolate, milk and dark, as he didn\u2019t know which I would prefer. We sat, drank wine and ate chocolate under the full moon by the waterfalls. He clearly wanted to make a great impression, and he did.<\/p>\n

We were pretty much inseparable after that, and I moved in soon after. About 5 months later, we set off to Europe to visit my family and friends (I hadn\u2019t seen them in 2.5 years because of the COVID pandemic). Everyone joked the trip would make us or break us, and after six months on the road, we came home closer than ever\u2026and with my family\u2019s full approval.<\/p>\n

\"\"What styling and visual elements worked best for you? (could be things, the florals, particular hire products or your marquee, etc., something the stylist created or simply just the scenic beauty of your location or the existing design of your venue).<\/strong><\/p>\n

We got super lucky with the weather during our three-day wedding, and that certainly contributed to the enchantment of it all. Our venue, which was located on a beautiful vineyard estate, included the original old home, converted barn, and garden with a swimming pool. It was perfectly suited to our vision \u2013 an easygoing, sophisticated long weekend that felt like one big family gathering and party.<\/p>\n

Styling-wise, we kept things natural and warm. The florist delivered whimsical bouquets and arrangements in whites and greens with small pops of burgundy that looked simple yet elegant. I\u2019m a fan of candles, so we filled tables and the surrounding spaces with them to create a cozy, intimate glow throughout the dinner.<\/p>\n

\"\"What did you enjoy most about the planning process, and do you have any tips for couples starting their wedding planning journey?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really enjoyed creating a mood board and envisioning the weekend. I cast my net widely for inspiration and worked closely with the vendors to make my vision come to life. I would certainly recommend getting either a wedding planner or at least a wedding coordinator for the big day, because you don\u2019t know what you don\u2019t know, and it helped take the edge off.<\/p>\n

\"\"Tell us about your vendors. Were there any standout suppliers you would like to make special mention of?<\/strong><\/p>\n

All of our vendors were truly amazing, and I would go back to them in a heartbeat. Our wedding coordinator, Julie Vaillot from Love is All Events, was outstanding on the big day and ensured everything ran smoothly. Our photographer, Florence Grandidier, has to be one of the best wedding photographers out there and makes you feel at ease behind the camera, while capturing every special moment.<\/p>\n

Tell us about your main outfits, what was unique, and is there a story?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I fell in love with my dress from Lola Varma the moment I tried it on at Melbourne Studio. The creative director, Courtney, was there throughout my fittings; I loved the intimacy and beauty of her studio. Knowing the dress was handmade in Melbourne made it that much more special.<\/p>\n

\"\"Tell us about your wedding and engagement rings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We had our rings custom-made by Nic Valpied Designs, who is a Melbourne-based jeweller. The rings were all hand-made in platinum. Chloe\u2019s engagement ring was carefully imagined by Scott and custom-made and brought to life by Nic.<\/p>\n

What were one or two elements that were most important to you both that you were happy to spend a little more on? (food, photography, florals, the venue, your outfits?).<\/strong><\/p>\n

We knew we wanted to prioritise our photographer because those are memories you hold onto forever. We were lucky that my Dad got married a couple.<\/p>\n

\"\"Was there a favourite moment (or two) that you will treasure always?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our favourite moment were seeing one another for the first time at the the first look, which was an intimate moment between Scotty and I before the ceremony. It was so nice to have a couple of minutes together before seeing all of our guests and have a chance to settle our nerves before the ceremony commenced.<\/p>\n

Broadly speaking, the entire wedding weekend was our favourite moment. We had all our family and friends who came from across the world, which was incredibly special to have the most special people in our lives together in one place for four days, celebrating our marriage.<\/p>\n

What does being married mean to you, and are there any special rituals you have that you would like to share?<\/strong><\/p>\n

To us, marriage is a conscious decision to commit to one another for life \u2013 it is the formalisation of love with \u201cthe law\u201d in our society.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s our commitment to one another where we demonstrate love, support, and care for each other every day. It\u2019s a commitment to us in growing personally & evolving together as a couple, honouring one another\u2019s needs, wants & dreams and working together to achieve these.<\/p>\n

To us, it\u2019s a first step towards starting a family and creating our own dreams together.<\/p>\n
